Overview

The Horticulture and Crop Science department was established in 1973 under the name of Plant Production and Protection, which is later on in 1980 has been separated into two different departments, one of them is Plant production department. In 2002, the department was renamed as the Department of Horticulture and Crop Science. The department has now 20 staff member. The department includes postgraduate programs of M.Sc. degree in Biotechnology and Horticulture and Crop Science, Organic farming,  and Ph.D. degree in Horticulture and Crop Science, also it includes two undergraduate programs one in Horticulture and Crop Science and the other one in Landscaping and Floriculture.
The mission of the department is to educate students and interact with producers, associated industries, professional groups and society through a distinctive curriculum and a dynamic research activity.
The vision of the department is to continue and improve in a tradition of high quality education service to Jordanian, regional and international agriculture, and to integrate new demanding areas.
